What is Pave the Way?
Pave the Way is a 24-hour giving day that brings together our staff, students, alumni and friends to support much needed causes at the University.
What areas does Pave the Way support?
From creating a healthier future for our Great Barrier Reef to supporting youth mental health research our community’s support can change lives. This year gifts to Pave the Way will support six important projects as well as University priorities:
When and where will Pave the Way take place?
Pave the Way takes place over a 24-hour period on Tuesday 12 September 2017, from 12am to 11.59pm.
It is primarily an online campaign driven through social media and email, however, there will be specific events and activities on the University’s Camperdown/Darlington Campus.
Who will be involved?
The entire University of Sydney community will be involved – alumni, staff, students, donors, parents and friends. You can take part by making a gift, sharing, liking and posting via social media, and visiting the campus on 12 September.

Why are we doing this?
Funding from philanthropic gifts plays a huge role in supporting the University’s areas of greatest need. We believe that together we can make a real impact.
How can I make a gift?
You can make gifts any time during the campaign. Gifts made via the website before 12 September will also be counted as part of Pave the Way. To make a gift please complete the simple online gift form. It only takes a couple of minutes. You can also make a gift by phone: simply call the Gift Hotline on +61 2 8627 8818 from 9am-5pm. Thank you for your support.
All gifts of $2 or more are tax deductible within Australia. You will receive an official tax receipt for your gift.
Our website can only accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express, but if you would like to make a gift using Diners Club, please call us on +61 2 8627 8818 and we can process your gift over the phone.
What is the Student Telephone Program?
This program aims to connect current students with graduates and our University community to keep them informed about what’s happening on campus. Our student callers are reaching out to graduates and donors to invite them to make a charitable gift to Pave the Way.
How do I know it’s really the University calling me?
All calls from our telephone program come from the same outgoing number. You will be able to verify that you are speaking with a student caller by checking the number they are calling from is 02 9325 0317.
What happens to my donation?
100 percent of your donation will go to the area you specify on the Pave the Way gift form.
Is my donation secure?
Can I make a gift to another area, like my faculty?
Yes, you can give to other areas. Visit our giving website and select your preferred area or call us on +61 2 8627 8818. All gifts made to any area of the University on 12 September will count towards Pave the Way.
